From Duesseldorf airport (DUS) to Duesseldorf main station (Duesseldorf Hbf):
After arriving at the Airport in Duesseldorf (DUS), please take the train “S-Bahn” number 11 (S11) to Duesseldorf main (“Duesseldorf Hbf”) station. Be careful to follow the green “S”- signs which are displayed in the terminal area of the airport (Illustration 1). Do not follow the “DB” signs directing you to another train station. It is noteworthy that you need not leave the airport to get to the “S-Bahn” station. The enclosed link (VWR S11) will lead you to the “S-Bahn” departure timetable. In general the train “S11 - to Duesseldorf Hbf - Neuss - Dormagen - Koeln - Bergisch Gladbach“ leaves every 20 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets can be purchased at the platform during your wait. Please leave the train at “Duesseldorf Hbf”.
From Cologne/Bonn airport (CGN) to Duesseldorf main station (Duesseldorf Hbf):
After arriving at the Airport in Cologne/Bonn (CGN), there are different options for making your way to Duesseldorf main station (“Duesseldorf Hbf”). The easiest is to take the “Regional express” number 6 (RE6) going to Minden whilst stopping at Duesseldorf - Duisburg - Essen - Dortmund - Hamm - Bielefeld on the way. The enclosed link (VRR RE6) will lead you to the “RE6” departure timetable. In general the train leaves once every hour. Please leave the train at Duesseldorf main station (“Duesseldorf Hbf”). Alternatively different train routes can be chosen to reach Duesseldorf Hbf. However these normally require further changes of trains. From Weeze-Niederrhein airport (NRN) to Duesseldorf main station (Duesseldorf Hbf):
After arriving in the airport Weeze-Niederrhein (NRN), sadly there is no direct route to Duesseldorf main station ("Duesseldorf Hbf”). First, take the bus leaving from “Weeze Flughafenring (Weeze airport terminal 1)“, going towards “Weeze Bahnhof” as seen in the link (Weeze airport - Bahnhof). After arriving at “Weeze Bahnhof”, take the “Regional express” number 10 (RE10) to Duesseldorf Hbf. The enclosed link (Nordwestbahn RE10) will lead you to the “RE10” departure timetable. Please leave the train at “Duesseldorf Hbf”.
From main station (Duesseldorf Hbf) to the University:
After arriving in Duesseldorf Hbf, please take the subway number 79 (U79) leaving for “University/Botanical garden” (VRR U79). The platforms for the departure of the Subway are in (beneath) the mainstation, so it is not required to leave the main station. A Subway departs every 10-20 minutes. Please leave the train at “University/Botanical garden”.

Our institute is located in the building ("26.14") which is about 100 m away from the station (Red arrow in Illustration 2). The Institute itself is located on the first floor ("26.14.01").
Arriving by car:
When arriving by car, use the official address (Universitaetsstraße 1, 40225 Duesseldorf) to get to the University. When using a route incorporating the A46 to Wuppertal, drive through the tunnel (under the University) and take the 2nd exit (direction Zentrum, B8/B326 Bundesstrasse). Follow the street up to the traffic lights and take a left turn onto Universitaetsstrasse. Use the enclosed Illustration 2 to locate the usable Parking areas (in yellow boxes). The underground Parking area is accessible from Monday to Friday from 6 am to 0.30 am.
Note that the car parks closest to the institute are marked through yellow boxes. The Institute itself is located on the first floor of building 26.14 ("26.14.01"), which is labelled by a red box. Also illustrated is the path leading from the train station “Uni Ost/Botanischer Garten” to the Institute (Red arrow).
Taking a cab (taxi)
If you plan on taking a taxi cab to the University, please tell the driver to go to Christophstr. 115 (south end of Christophstrasse) in Duesseldorf. Then she/he will bring you right in front of building 26.14 (Institute of Neurobiology).
